You'll build the foundational skills of the Hakomi method, learned experientially and practiced in real time:
- The Embodied Therapist: A somatic self-resourcing technique that keeps you regulated and present in even the hardest sessions
- The Art of Contacting: Contact statements that move clients beneath the narrative and into direct somatic experience
- Somatic Tracking: Reading breath, gesture, micro-expression, tone, and posture so you always know where to go next
- Mindful Explorations: How to set up, facilitate, and close the core experiential vehicle of Hakomi therapy
Woven throughout both days, you and your cohort will engage in discussions, Q&As, small group practice, experiential exercises, and live demonstrations. Each is designed not just to build your understanding of Hakomi, but to leave you embodying the method rather than simply knowing it.
You'll also be guided through advanced trauma techniques and clinically vital skills in Hakomi-informed trauma work:
- Internalized Trauma Parts: Recognizing, befriending, and working with protective parts through Hakomi's All Parts Are Welcome approach
- Safe, Relational Touch: Ethics, consent, clinical indications, contraindications, and the precise tracking required
- The ROAMING Protocol: Recognizing, tracking, and moving through triggered states in your clients and in yourself
You'll leave San Diego with a set of skills you can feel in your body, not just recall from your notes. Back in your office, your clients will feel the difference before you say a word.
The clinicians who will be in that room are registering now. Claim your spot.
