Francine Shapiro, the originator of EMDR, is a senior research fellow at the Mental Research Institute. She's the executive director of the EMDR Institute and founder and president emeritus of the EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Programs, a nonprofit that coordinates disaster response and trainings worldwide.
