May/June 2023: Rethinking Relationships: A Look at Nonmonogamy, Coparenting, and the Choice to be Single

This issue examines different approaches to intimate relationships, including some perspectives that challenge longstanding principles in our culture and in the psychotherapy field. It looks at our conscious and unconscious biases about secure attach¬ment, as well as opportunities for therapists to help people have new conversations about their options for partnerships. One piece looks at how therapists can help clients exploring consensual nonmonogamy by deepening communication and attuning to one another in new ways. Another looks at the issue of singlism and how to support clients who decide to remain single. Other pieces look at helping romantic partners write flexible relationship contracts, how to work with partners struggling with mixed erotic-orientations, treating racial trauma, and ethical considerations when therapists are dealing with a personal crisis.
