Brian Gordon, PhD, ABPP


B. Heath Gordon, Ph.D., ABPP, is a licensed psychologist and is board-certified in clinical neuropsychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology. Dr. Gordon is in independent practice full-time and his clinical focus is on adult and geriatric neuropsychology with patients ranging in cognitive and functional ability as well as stages of chronic illness. He also works as an independent consultant performing forensic neuropsychological evaluations in both civil and criminal cases.

Dr. Gordon has trained hundreds of professionals in the healthcare and mental health fields on Alzheimer’s Disease and neurocognitive disorders, diagnostic interviewing and mental status exams, cognitive screening of older patients, behavioral management of neurocognitive disorders, and the evaluation of decisional capacities in older adults. He holds an affiliate faculty appointment at the rank of assistant professor in the Division of Geriatrics at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, and he has published articles and book chapters on various topics in geriatric psychology including psychological assessment and mentoring geriatric psychologists, has presented at state and national conferences on topics in clinical and forensic neuropsychology, and has served as a clinical supervisor or preceptor for pre-doctoral psychology interns, psychology postdoctoral fellows, geriatric nurse practitioners, and fellows in geriatric medicine.

Dr. Gordon earned his Ph.D. from West Virginia University and is a member of the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology, American Board of Professional Psychology, American Psychological Association (APA; as well the APA American Psychology-Law Society and Society of Clinical Geropsychology), Mississippi Psychological Association, and National Academy of Neuropsychology.
