Description

This therapeutic legal aid training is intended to help support and guide clinicians working with survivors of narcissistic abuse.  Inside, you’ll find critical information on how to help support your clients through divorce proceedings, custody battles, family court, and other types of legal problems.

Illinois Counselors

This intermediate self-study activity consists of 3.5 clock hours of continuing education instruction. Per the IDFPR: Social Work Continuing Education Sponsors approved by the Division in accordance with the rules for the administration of Clinical Social Work and Social Work Practice Act (225 ILCS 201), 68 Ill.  Adm. Code 1470.95; PESI, Inc. is a registered social work continuing education sponsor with the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Division of Professional Regulation. License #: 159-000154. A certificate of attendance will be awarded at the end of the program to participants who are in full attendance, pass a post-test, and who complete the program evaluation.


Kentucky Counselors

CE credit is available. This self-study course consists of 4.25 continuing education credit hours for Kentucky Counselors. The Continuing Education Requirements for the Kentucky Board of Licensed Professional Counselors (201 KAR 36:030 Section 2) state continuing education programs from providers sponsored or approved by a state counseling licensure board shall be approved without further review by the board. PESI, Inc. is approved by the South Carolina Board of Examiners for Licensure of Professional Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Psycho-Educational Specialists. Provider #4540. PESI maintains responsibility for this program and its contents.


Montana Counselors

The Montana Board of Behavioral Health no longer pre-approves any courses or sponsors. Each licensee is responsible for taking courses which contribute to their competence and directly relate to their scope of practice as defined in board statute (MAR 24-219-32). Licensees must keep CE documentation for three years in case of an audit. This intermediate level self-study activity consists of 3.5 clock hours of instruction.


Nevada Counselors

Sandra L. Brown, MA Related seminars and products


Sandra L. Brown, MA, has worked with narcissistic abuse survivors for over 30 years and is often referred to as the pioneer in the field of pathological love relationships (relationships with partners who have narcissism or psychopathy). Her seminal work and research helped launch the ‘Narcissistic and Psychopathic Abuse’ field. She is an author of hundreds of articles for survivors on narcissistic abuse and her books include the highly popular How to Spot a Dangerous Man Before You Get Involved (Hunter House, 2005), the award-winning Women Who Love Psychopaths: Inside the Relationships of Inevitable Harm With Psychopaths, Sociopaths & Narcissists (Mask Publishing, 2018), as well as the clinically-relevant Counseling Victims of Violence (American Counseling Association, 1991). She is the current president of The Association for NPD/Psychopathy Survivor Treatment, Research & Education, and the CEO of The Institute for Relational Harm Reduction and Public Pathology Education.
