Description

If you work with COUPLES, FAMILIES, in RELATIONAL psychodynamic work or ATTACHMENT oriented bodywork this somatic workshop is designed especially for YOU. The session will have a brief introduction of the core concepts of Relational Rupture and Repair Work, developed by SE faculty Dave Berger and Abi Blakeslee. The next part of the session will be an interactive demonstration where a conference participant will present a couple or dyad they are working with. They will role play one of the dyad and choose another person from the audience to role play the other. Abi and Dave will demonstrate the work and deconstruct interventions based on the model.

Kentucky Counselors

CE credit is available. This self-study course consists of 1.75 continuing education credit hours for Kentucky Counselors. The Continuing Education Requirements for the Kentucky Board of Licensed Professional Counselors (201 KAR 36:030 Section 2) state continuing education programs from providers sponsored or approved by a state counseling licensure board shall be approved without further review by the board. PESI, Inc. is approved by the South Carolina Board of Examiners for Licensure of Professional Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Psycho-Educational Specialists. Provider #4540. PESI maintains responsibility for this program and its contents.


Montana Counselors

The Montana Board of Behavioral Health no longer pre-approves any courses or sponsors. Each licensee is responsible for taking courses which contribute to their competence and directly relate to their scope of practice as defined in board statute (MAR 24-219-32). Licensees must keep CE documentation for three years in case of an audit. This intermediate level self-study activity consists of 1.5 clock hours of instruction.


Nevada Counselors

Abi Blakeslee, SEP, CMT, MFT, PhD Related seminars and products


Abi Blakeslee, SEP, CMT, MFT, PhD, is an international expert in the field of trauma recovery and the founder of Implicit Psychotherapy. She is senior faculty at the Somatic Experiencing International and additionally legacy faculty for Dr. Peter Levine’s Ergos Institute for Somatic Education. She is the Director of Training and Education for the Neuro-Consulting Group.

Dr. Blakeslee holds a PhD in clinical and somatic psychology and an MA in counseling and depth psychology. Her dissertation generated original research on the role of implicit memory in healing trauma. Dr. Blakeslee integrates the study of implicit memory and psychophysiology in clinical research, secondary trauma interventions, and the psychobiological principles of attachment and shock trauma.

Dr. Blakeslee teaches and consults worldwide. She lives in Bozeman, Montana with her husband and enjoys the snow, mountains, and rivers with their three children.

Dave Berger, MFT, LCMHC, PT, MA, SEP Somatic Psychotherapist Physical Therapist, Integrative Bodyworker, Developer of Bodywork and Somatic Education™ for Trauma Therapists (BASE™)

Dave has been in the field of Somatics for almost 40 years having first found his way into it by developing his own undergraduate program, somatopsychology, at the University of Maryland. He went on to obtain graduate degrees in physical therapy at Stanford and somatic psychology at California Institute of Integral Studies. He has been significantly influenced by Peter Levine and Somatic Experiencing®, Marion Rosen and Rosen Method® bodywork, Paul Linden's Being In Movement® and other somatics practices, as well as family systems, psychodynamic psychotherapy, manual physical therapy, visceral manipulation, and craniosacral therapy.

Dave is a faculty member of the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute teaching the Somatic Experiencing Professional Training and has developed BASE™: Bodywork and Somatic Education™ for trauma therapists. His clinical work spans work with PTSD, couples, individuals, anxiety, chronic pain, medical syndromes/chronic distress, and acute musculoskeletal problems. His professional passion is working along the continuum of behavioral and physical health and teaching other practitioners to do the same. His personal passions are his family and spending time outdoors.
