Sean Davis, PhD
Sean Davis, PhD, is a distinguished professor in the couple and family program at Alliant University, a licensed marriage and family therapist in practice for 25 years, and an AAMFT-approved supervisor. He has co-authored two of the field’s foundational textbooks - Family Therapy: Concepts and Methods and Common Factors in Couple Therapy: The Overlooked Foundation of Effective Practice, as well as co-edited Clinical Supervision Activities for Increasing Competence and Self-Awareness. His common factors scholarship has earned him national recognition, including the AAMFT Dissertation Award, AAMFT Graduate Student Research Award, and the Prestigious AAMFT Training Award. A two-time past recipient of the Journal of Marital and Family Therapy Article of the Year Award and the Inclusivity Article of the Year Award, Dr. Davis has served on its editorial board as well as on the board of Family Process. Dr. Davis has presented his work to audiences around the world.
